The Shop
In 2013, The Gypsy Vault was opened by FreddyRay and Ricco Diamante in the basement of the historic Graphic Arts Building, which was located at at 224 W. Wayne Street. The building was initially a trade school for business professionals and at some point housed a speakeasy in its basement. A vault was later installed in the basement for purposes that are still unclear. The vault inspired the name for the shop as both it, and the artists, had moved from place to place throughout their lifetimes. When a redevelopment project caused the Graphic Arts Building to be demolished, The Gypsy Vault relocated to the historic PBI Building on The Landing where the shop was located for nearly 7 years. In January of 2021, again due to a renovation project, The Gypsy Vault was forced to move yet again. Then, in the fall of 2022 we found our permanent home at 916 Fairfield Avenue in the historic carriage house behind The MacDougal House.
FreddyRay
